English defender Danielle Cox has sealed a move to Sassuolo from Parma, making the Serie A side her fourth Italian club since relocating to the country in 2020. Soccerdonna reports that the 33-year-old brings a wealth of experience from spells at Pomigliano, Parma, and FC Como Women.
Cox was a near ever-present for Parma during 2025/26, starting 19 of her 20 league appearances and netting twice. She added further contributions in the Coppa Italia Women and the Serie A Women's Cup - two matches and a goal in each - finishing the campaign with four goals from 24 competitive outings.
Cox's journey began at Doncaster Rovers Belles before stints with Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield FC, Sheffield United, Celtic, and Durham. Her Italian adventure started at Pomigliano, where she helped secure promotion to Serie A Women in her debut season. Two years later she joined Parma, making 22 league appearances but unable to prevent relegation. A season at FC Como Women followed before she returned to Parma in 2024, playing a key role in their promotion back to the top flight with 22 appearances and two goals. Now, after two further seasons, Sassuolo awaits.
