Russian bantamweight Dariya Zheleznyakova is set to step into the octagon for the first time as a UFC fighter when she takes on Mexico's Montserrat Rendon at UFC Apex in Las Vegas on 23 March.
Carrying an impressive 8-1 professional record, Zheleznyakova earned her shot at the big stage with a first-round technical knockout of Marie Loiseau in April, as Sherdog reports.
Standing in her way is Rendon, who remains unbeaten at 6-0. The Mexican picked up a split decision victory over Tamires Vidal at UFC Fight Night 228 in her promotional debut. Notably, every one of her professional victories has come via the judges' scorecards.
Rendon had originally been booked to face Nora Cornelle, but a medical issue forced Cornelle to withdraw, paving the way for Zheleznyakova's promotional bow.
