A mix of WNBA superstars and exciting new faces will represent the United States at the upcoming FIBA World Cup, with group play kicking off on 4 September.
AIUSA Basketball has unveiled a 12-player roster packed with firepower ahead of the FIBA World Cup, blending proven international pedigree with some of the sport's most talked-about rising stars.
Caitlin Clark, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese, and Aliyah Boston are all set to pull on the national team jersey at a senior major tournament for the first time. They join two-time WNBA MVP A'ja Wilson and fellow MVP Breanna Stewart in a squad that looks formidable on paper.
Head coach Kara Lawson will steer the group, supported by assistants Natalie Nakase, Nate Tibbetts, and Stephanie White. Jose Fernandez and Tia Jackson complete the bench as scout coaches.
Wilson, Stewart, Plum, Gray, and Copper bring deep international know-how, having represented the USA at both the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 Olympics. The newcomers are no strangers to gold, though - Boston, Bueckers, Clark, and Howard have all triumphed at junior level.
The Americans open group play on 4 September against China before taking on Italy and Czechia, with the group stage wrapping up on 7 September. The tournament runs until 13 September, and the WNBA season will be paused to accommodate the competition.
