Katlyn Chookagian is set to snap an 18-month absence from competition when she squares off against Maycee Barber at UFC 299 on 9 March. Both fighters took to social media to confirm the flyweight clash, as Sherdog reports.
The pay-per-view event is expected to be held at the Kaseya Center in Miami, with several other high-profile bouts rounding out the card.
Chookagian has been out of action since a defeat to Manon Fiorot at UFC 280 in October 2022. Before that setback, she had been on a four-fight tear - picking up wins over Amanda Ribas, Jennifer Maia, Viviane Araujo and Cynthia Calvillo.
Barber, meanwhile, arrives in fine form. She has reeled off five straight victories since dropping a decision to Alexa Grasso at UFC 258 in 2021, most recently outstriking Amanda Ribas in a convincing performance.
It shapes up as a compelling style clash - Chookagian's veteran craft against Barber's surging momentum.
