Brasero Heads to Spain

West Ham United have shipped midfielder Sarah Brasero off to newly promoted Deportivo Alavés on a season-long loan. The 21-year-old clearly fancies some sunshine - and, more importantly, some actual minutes on the pitch.

Why the Move?

Brasero managed just 12 appearances and two goals for the Hammers last season after arriving from Estoril. Hardly the regular football an ambitious England youth international craves. With no guarantee of increased game time at West Ham, a stint in Liga F looks like a smart bet for her development.

Fresh Challenge Awaits

Alavés earned promotion as runners-up in the Reto Iberdrola and will spend the 2026/27 campaign finding their feet in Spain's top flight. Brasero gets a project she can grow with. Not a bad deal for either side.
