Billa's late heroics keep Stuttgart's perfect start intact

Nicole Billa rescued a point for VfB Stuttgart as they came from behind twice to salvage a dramatic 3:3 draw at 1. FC Nürnberg in the Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga on Sunday.

The result means Stuttgart remain unbeaten this season, though they were pushed to the limit in front of 1,307 fans at the Max-Morlock-Stadion.

Nürnberg twice take the lead

Emöke Papai was the star of the first half for the hosts. A handball in the box gave her the chance to open the scoring from the penalty spot, and she duly obliged before adding a second after the break to put Nürnberg 2-0 up.

Stuttgart hit back through Billa and Maximiliane Rall to draw level, but Fany Proniez restored Nürnberg's advantage for a third time. Billa, however, wasn't finished - netting again to ensure the spoils were shared.

Injuries force changes for both sides

Both managers were forced into lineup adjustments. Nürnberg boss Omar Adlani brought in Jonna Brengel - making her first start since recovering from a knee injury - to replace the injured Charline Coutel. Stuttgart head coach Nico Schneck made two changes after losing Janina Hechler and Reena Wichmann to injury.

Nürnberg were dominant early on, hitting the crossbar and creating multiple chances before capitalising. But Stuttgart's resilience, embodied by Billa's brace, proved enough to maintain their unbeaten record, as OneFootball reports.
