Women's football is crashing the internet's party - and it's doing so with style. A brand-new social-first campaign dubbed 'Interception' has been unveiled ahead of the 2026/27 Barclays Women's Super League and BWSL2 season, which kicks off on 4 September.
The concept is delightfully simple: pair top-flight footballers with online creators and see what happens when their worlds collide.
Creative agency Anomaly and production house Sata Studios are behind the project, which features 14 films across three formats. Live Collabs see players and creators working together in real time. Edit Collabs splice creator content with player footage. And Makers - well, artists simply get ambushed by football moments mid-flow.
Among the creators roped in are Bimini, Abbie Franks, The History Magpie and GIRLI. On the pitch side, Alexia Putellas, Georgia Stanway and Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw headline the lineup, with more names to follow as content rolls out, WSL Football reports.
The goal is straightforward: drag women's football into cultural spaces it hasn't traditionally occupied and hook audiences who might not yet be tuning in. With the new season just days away, expect 'Interception' content to flood social feeds imminently.
