Track Limit Controversy and FIA's Response

The issue of track limit enforcement has been a point of contention in Formula 1, with drivers and teams often questioning the consistency and fairness of these regulations. Recently, Haas F1 Team's request for a review of track limit infringements in Brazil may have been rejected due to a lack of new and significant evidence. However, the stewards made a significant admission in their decision, acknowledging that the current system of enforcing track limits is unsatisfactory.

The stewards cited a meeting with the FIA's single-seater sporting director, Steve Nielsen, where it was admitted that track limit supervision at certain turns was less than ideal. While Haas's evidence was not deemed new, the stewards emphasized the need for a solution to improve track limit policing across various circuits. The FIA, in collaboration with circuit organizers, has already taken steps to address this issue, with further solutions expected before the start of the 2024 season.

General Motors' F1 Aspirations

The prospect of General Motors entering Formula 1 has been a hot topic in recent discussions. General Motors has ruled out partnering with any team other than Andretti Global in their potential F1 venture. Andretti Global is currently in commercial negotiations with Formula 1 management, following the approval of its application for an 11th grid slot by the FIA. However, gaining F1's approval has proven to be a challenging endeavor, with teams advocating for a higher anti-dilution fee and seeking to disrupt GM's existing deal with Cadillac.

Despite the hurdles, General Motors remains steadfast in its commitment to collaborating with Andretti Global for an F1 entry, with GM President Mark Roy stating, "GM is committed to partnering with Andretti to race in F1."
