The Chicago Sky have confirmed Skylar Diggins will miss the rest of the WNBA season due to an aggravated right knee injury, with the franchise prioritising her recovery.

Skylar Diggins will not take the court again this WNBA season. The Chicago Sky confirmed on Monday that their guard will sit out the remainder of the campaign as she recovers from an aggravated right knee injury.
Diggins, who last featured in July, had already been listed as unavailable due to the knee problem. Now the franchise has made it official - her 2026 season is done.
Sky general manager Jeff Pagliocca voiced his full support for Diggins, stressing that her long-term health takes priority over anything else, ESPN reports.
Diggins had been delivering solid production before the setback. Across 19 games this season, she averaged 14.2 points and 4.9 assists per contest. She joined Chicago on a two-year deal worth $1.86 million.
The timing softens the blow somewhat. Chicago were eliminated from playoff contention on 23 August and have just four games left when the league resumes on 17 September following the FIBA World Cup break.
Diggins had previously spoken about her feelings regarding her role within the team - a storyline that now fades into the background as recovery becomes the sole focus.
