Not many players announce themselves quite like Maja Bodin. The 24-year-old forward, freshly arrived from Växjö, pulled on a Häcken shirt for the first time and promptly bagged three goals in a commanding 6-0 demolition of BP.
Half of Häcken's total came from Bodin's boots - a debut performance that most strikers can only fantasise about.
One of Bodin's goals arrived via a rebound, but the other two showcased what she does best: darting in behind the defensive line. It was no accident. Bodin revealed she and teammate Josse Rybrink had spoken extensively before kick-off about those exact movements, ensuring the passes would come whenever she made her runs.
"Making runs behind the defence is one of my strengths," Bodin noted, as SVT reported. The pre-match planning clearly paid dividends.
Coach Elena Sadiku handed Bodin immediate responsibility, and the striker repaid that trust emphatically. Bodin acknowledged how significant it was for her confidence to be thrown straight in and deliver such a decisive contribution from the outset.
For Häcken, it was a near-perfect afternoon. For Bodin, it was the ideal beginning to a new chapter.
