Savannah Marshall Withdraws from Fight

Savannah Marshall has announced her withdrawal from the undercard of the upcoming all-women's boxing event featuring Natasha Jonas and Lauren Price on March 7 in London. The super-middleweight champion was anticipated to participate but has since confirmed she will not be fighting.
Marshall's Experience
The 33-year-old boxer expressed her disappointment via social media, stating that she was led to believe an opponent had been secured and had been training since December 14. Marshall was invited to a press conference where she expected to have her fight announced but was instead left feeling sidelined and confused.
Boxxer’s Response
Boxxer, the promotion company involved, responded to Marshall's comments by indicating they had made an offer for her to fight on the Jonas-Price undercard, but an agreement could not be reached with her management. They expressed their desire to maintain a positive relationship with Marshall for future events.
Marshall's Recent Career
Marshall previously headlined Boxxer’s last all-women's card in October 2022, where she faced Claressa Shields. Despite losing that match, she went on to secure the undisputed super-middleweight title against Franchon Crews-Dezurn in July 2023. Since that victory, she has taken a break from boxing to explore mixed martial arts.
Event Highlights
The March 7 event at London’s Royal Albert Hall will still feature notable bouts, including a lightweight title fight between Caroline Dubois and Bo Mi Re Shin, as well as a featherweight match between Karriss Artingstall and Raven Chapman. Olympic medallist Cindy Ngamba will also make her professional debut against European champion Kirstie Bavington.
