Final Week of Premier League Summer Transfer Window: A Complete Breakdown

It's the final week of the summer transfer window in the Premier League. After a record summer so far with more than £2 billion spent on players, there are more to come. Here is a breakdown of what we might expect from each team in the coming days:

Arsenal:

  • The main focus is on outgoings, but additional signings might be completed due to the injury to Jurrien Timber.

  • Folarin Balogun is closing in on a £38.6m move to Monaco.

  • Both Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest are looking at Nuno Tavares while Brighton wants Albert Sambi-Lokonga.

  • Big-money signings Nicolas Pepe and Rob Holding are also available for sale by the club.

Aston Villa:

  • Villa was close to signing Sevilla's Marcos Acuna, but that deal looks to be off after Acuna suffered an injury recently.

  • The hunt for a left-back continues, and Arsenal's Nuno Tavares is their main target. Nottingham Forest is also competing for Tavares.

Bournemouth:

  • Already among the biggest spenders this summer, Bournemouth is expected to have a calm last week of the window. But they want a new striker. Nicolas Gonzalez, Hugo Ekitike, and Brennan Johnson are their main targets.

Brentford:

  • They want another forward in Ivan Toney's absence, and the main target is Brennan Johnson. However, with stiff competition from Spurs for Johnson, they might shift focus over to Hugo Ekitike.

Brighton:

  • Midfielder Carlos Baleba is expected to complete a £25m transfer from Lille very soon, plugging the hole left by Moisés Caicedo.

  • Albert Sambi-Lokonga is also on Brighton's radar.

Burnley:

  • It looks like The Clarets have done their deals for this summer window.

Chelsea:

  • Even after spending over £4 billion since Todd Boehly took control of the club in May last year, Chelsea is still finding money to spend. They seek a right-winger and have asked Barcelona about their young supertalent Ansu Fati, but he is not expected to leave the Catalonian club this summer.

  • Chelsea has an oversized squad and might be looking at potential trouble with financial fair play, so they are looking to offload several players. Romelu Lukaku is moving to Rome on a loan, and last year's big signing Marc Cucurella is also among the players that might leave Stamford Bridge.

  • Trevor Chalobah looks to be heading for Bayern Munich.

  • Nottingham Forest is also trying to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Crystal Palace:

  • Goalie Dean Henderson has completed his medical for a £20m deal from Manchester United. That means Vincent Guaita should be free to leave.

  • The young stars Michael Olise and Eberiche Eze are chased by several clubs but look to be staying at Selhurst Park.

Everton:

  • The Portuguese striker Beto completed a £25m deal from Udinese yesterday and signed a four-year contract. That means that Neal Maupay might be on his way out.

  • That also might be the case for Demarai Gray and Alex Iwobi, with Fulham wanting both players. Gray is also chased by Crystal Palace and clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Fulham:

  • Tosin Adarabioyo was not in the squad against Spurs last night and is expected to complete a move to Monaco in the coming days.

  • A deal is agreed with Sevilla for striker Lucas Ocampos.

Liverpool:

  • With Saudi Arabian clubs chasing several of Jurgen Klopp's players, it might be a few nail-biting weeks until the window closes in the Saudi league. The latest addition to the list is defender Joe Gomez, but the interest in goalie Alisson and superstar Mo Salah is still hot.

  • Nat Phillips looked to finally be able to find new employment, but with Gomez potentially leaving for Al Ittihad, he could be looking at yet another season on the sideline at Anfield.

Luton:

  • The main focus at Kenilworth Road is to strengthen the defense. Arsenal's Rob Holding is a target, and they have not given up on Japhet Tanganga from Spurs.

Manchester United:

  • After Luke Shaw's injury, the chase for a replacement left-back is heating up. Chelsea's Marc Cucurella and Spurs' Sergio Reguilon are the names most often mentioned, but a surprise return to the Premier League for Marcos Alonso might also happen.

  • Harry Maguire has been chased by former United-manager David Moyes all summer but looks to stay at Old Trafford.

  • Moyes also wanted Scott McTominay, but after Bayern Munich joined that discussion, the young Scotsman looks to be heading for Germany.

  • A new central midfielder is also on Erik ten Haag's wishlist, with Pierre-Emile Højbjerg and World Cup-sensation Sofyan Amrabat highest on that list.

Manchester City:

  • The last bid for Matheus Nunes of £47m was rejected, but City is expected to make an improved offer.

  • Joao Cancelo is heading for Barcelona on a new loan deal.

Newcastle:

  • It looks to be a quiet last week for Newcastle.

Nottingham Forest:

  • A loan deal for Arsenal's Nuno Tavares is expected to be completed soon after long negotiations.

  • The same goes for Odysseas Vlachodimos from Benfica. The goalkeeper's price tag is around £7.5m.

  • Forest also wants to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea but faces competition from several other clubs.

Sheffield United:

  • Even with eight new names in the doors so far, more signings are expected for the Blades. Paul Heckingbottom has been quoted saying "I want as many as possible" and would like to have more than the allowed 25 players to choose from.

Spurs:

  • Brennan Johnson is the hottest topic at N17. Ansu Fati has been rumored as well.

  • But the main focus is sending players out the door. As many as ten players have been put on the not-wanted list. Tanguy N'Dombele, Sergio Reguilon, Hugo Lloris, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, Djed Spence, Eric Dier, Japhet Tanganga, Bryan Gil, and Dane Scarlett are the names. Some are only available for loans, including young talent Dane Scarlett.

  • Eric Dier has been offered to Bayern Munich and might join his good friend Harry Kane who completed a £100m transfer from Spurs a few weeks ago.

  • Djed Spence looks to be heading to Leeds on a loan.

  • Manchester United is looking at both Sergio Reguilon and Pierre-Emile Højbjerg.

West Ham:

  • David Moyes is chasing Harry Maguire, but he looks to be staying at Manchester United.

  • A deal for Moussa Niakhaté from Mainz is looking more likely. The defender's price tag is around £30m.

Wolves:

  • Matheus Nunes has reportedly gone on a strike to force through a move to Manchester City, but Wolves boss Gary O’Neill has said he expects the player to remain at Molineux. Wolves stand firm on their £60m valuation of the player, and City have yet to improve on their £47m bid from last week.

  • Goncalo Guedes have completed a loan move to Benfica until next summer.

It's going to be an interesting last few days before the window slams shut until January. The total spending record is already broken. Stay tuned for the latest updates.
