Following the public rant at Spurs owner Daniel Levy and the club as a whole, Antonio Conte was sacked as Tottenham Hotspurs’ manager. The Italian was appointed in November 2021, managing the club for 76 games. With 41 wins, 12 draws, and 23 losses, he ended with 1.92 points per match.

AC Milan knocked Spurs out of the Champions League, and a top-four finish to enter the competition again next season looks far from secure. Conte’s assistant Cristian Stellini will take the reigns until the end of the season, but who could replace Conte on a permanent basis this summer?

Julian Nagelsmann:
Nagelsmann was sacked by Bayern München last week after one-and-a-half seasons in charge. The timing of the sacking came as a surprise to many, considering Bayern are in the quarter-finals of both the Champions League and the German Cup, as well as second place in the league.

Nagelsmann’s progressive and flexible tactics might be exactly what Spurs needs in the coming future. He is also renowned for his work with young players.

A world class manager at just 35 years of age, Nagelsmann is attracting interest from Tottenham, PSG, and Real Madrid, he could be a huge asset were he appointed for the Spurs job.

Mauricio Pochettino:

A potentially sensational return to north London, the Argentinian is currently out of a job.

Sacked from PSG in July last year, Pochettino won the French cup and the Ligue 1 during his time with the club. Gaining experience from managing the likes of Lionel Messi, Mbappe and Neymar, the Spurs board might be tempted to give him another go at the helm.

During his previous five years at Tottenham, he guided the team to both a league cup and Champions League final, as well a second-place finish in the league. His last match in charge was in November 2019.

Luis Enrique:

Following a disappointing 2022 World Cup, Luis Enrique was given the axe by Spain last December. The spaniard has an impressive CV, with previous employment as the manager of Barcelona. Winning nine trophies during his time with the Catalan giants, he steered Barcelona to both Champions League and La Liga victory.

He has yet to try his hand at the Premier League, and could be the man to achieve greatness with Spurs. Tottenham’s sporting director Fabio Paratici has Enrique at the top of his target list.

Massimiliano Allergri:
A proven world class manager, the current Juventus manager won five consecutive titles from 2015 to 2019, as well as four consecutive doubles after taking over the reigns from Antonio Conte. He was praised for his tactical intelligence and his ability to build effectively upon Conte’s successful tactics and winning mentality as Juventus’ manager. Could he once again replace Conte and transform Tottenham into a trophy-winning team?
